I also wanted the option to wheel it thru airports. This bag is plenty large enough and has wonderful wheel action and the straps all tuck away nicely. There are not any exterior pockets that thieves can get into. Quite slick, I must say. I easily travel over 100 days per year, mostly in SE Asia. I have spent many hours looking for a baggage solution that would be able carry my think tank brand camera backpack and the rest of my belongings. On airplanes, my camera bag is my carry on, and the sojourn gets checked. When I'm moving from place to place, my camera bag is inside the sojourn, so I only have to mind one bag. On top of this, there is also room left over to bring home a souvenir, or two.The brilliance of this solution is that 95% of the time, I just have to wheel the sojourn around with minimal effort. In the past, I used a full-sized hiking backpack, but thankfully, those days are behind me. If you know osprey products, the construction, design and customer service are wonderful.
