I am a 6-6.5 and decided to get the 6.5 for a boot to accommodate heavy socks etc. I took out the thin insole and put in my own much thicker orthotic. They felt great with a pair of heavy socks. I was going to Ireland for a hiking tour and was advised to make sure you had worn in boots. I literally wore them every waking moment for the prior 3 weeks with double socks, smart wool thick hiking and a thinner smart wool sock under that. They broke in perfectly so when I was actually hiking I had a thinner wool hiking sock and wool running sock together. So comfortable. They are very well constructed, firm and supportive. I had no problems at all and no blisters as did some of the other hikers. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that they were indeed water proof if you just hit a puddle here and there or had to walk through water. But in Ireland we had (luckily) one morning of constant rain.
