I have the older version and can say that the new handle is an upgrade from the older style. I have three Leki poles that I use as canes with three different grip styles. My favorite is no longer available and was on the longer sticks. This one, I use almost exclusivly as a suitcase and motorcycle saddlebag cane, you will not find a smaller one. I recommend these as I love the carbide tip on ice and hard trails, the rubber tip works well also and is smaller, lighter and more secure than any others I have used. The ability to take the bungee cross it an x fashion across the back of your hand and hook over the rear of the handle which will then almost auto advance the stick is also unique. I would replace the rather thin strap which I suspect this will have with a heavier bungee and then tie in an overhand knot to the length you need for this trick. This is a very fast cane especially without the rubber tip, its amazing what difference a light swing weight offers An excellent pole / cane!, This review is from: Leki Super Micro Trekking Pole (Single) - Updated 2011 (Misc.) I now only use this tip for my Leki Super Micro. It has a greater surface area and excellent traction. It also helps me stay steady when I wobble a bit :) Highly recommend! |
