Great arch support. A stylist look, and this color, Dark Shadow, is very attractive. Since there is mesh all over the top of the shoe, I had a hard time believing that they could be waterproof, but I purposely stepped in a puddle of ice water yesterday and felt not a drop of water inside the shoe. They are fantastically comfortable and I have had no issues with blisters or any other problem, so the other review must have been written by someone who didn't have the correct fit. I ordered these a half size larger than my normal size, because I planned to wear them with heavy socks for winter walking/hiking. The toe box is still slightly shorter than I would prefer, but I have very wide feet (normally buy New Balance because of this) and am used to much roomier toe boxes. It is not a problem most people will have.These shoes are good for walking on dry land and wet trails, but are not ice-friendly... But my wife got the same issues as I did with another kind of shoe from Merrell. I would be very careful to wear these for awhile before doing any serious hiking or walking to avoid injury. |
